Wouldn’t it be nice if you could instantly run an analysis on your entire portfolio to check progress and spot errors? You’ve guessed it – now you can!
When new customers join the UtilityClick platform, we often run face-to-face training sessions. Nothing is more beneficial than meeting in person to guide fresh users through the end-to-end interface of the system, answering questions along the way. But the main reason for running these workshops is what I like to call the ‘alignment of processes’.
As a business, you have processes which take an opportunity from the very first stage of inception, through quoting, acceptance, registration and all the way to invoicing, commission collection and reconciliation. The UC system covers all of these bases, with a degree of flexibility which allows for the preferences of the company (or user) to be taken into account. During training, we make sure that your processes and the system’s flow match as closely as possible. Sometimes, we find that brokers will adapt their processes to the system – preferring the default methodology we define. Others prefer to use the software’s flexibility to entwine-with and enhance their own existing processes. We make sure the two fit like a jigsaw – working with the customer to establish what’s best for them and their users.
But processes are not infallible. No matter how detailed your plan, and how well-trained your staff, external influences and one-off errors can throw a spanner in the works. Missing out on a contract because of registration issues, or not tendering at all because the opportunity was not correctly set up – examples of boo-boos which can ultimately result in lost revenue and rosey red cheeks.
Now the fix. We’re currently developing a new system called Reporting. This module – built into our Analytics product – provides a range of tools to allow admin users to run analysis on their entire portfolio, on the fly. Each report provides a check on an important metric to ensure business remains good. Quickly see any meters where no future opportunity has been created. Instantly retrieve a list of meters which have been rejected by the supplier, or haven’t yet been registered for other reasons. And it’s not just about errors. Immediate analysis of your data keeps everything running that little bit more smoothly.
We’ll be adding new Reports as often as we can build them. And we’re starting with a handful of commonly requested options as we look to release the software update in the coming days. And best of all – it’s all free to our existing Analytics subscribers. Because that’s how we roll at UC.
