When it comes to Half-Hourly meters, getting the rates from a preferred supplier is only half the battle. So we’re now supporting MOP and DC/DA contracts!
Every HH meter in an active contract requires a Meter Operator (MOP) and Data Collection/Aggregation (DC/DA) contract in place in parallel. The result of incorrect or incomplete meter details being provided to the incoming supplier is the possible appointment of the wrong MOP & DC/DA. In a day and age when data is so crucial, this scenario could leave your customer with a black hole of no consumption information. A situation which is very tricky to overcome.
As is often the case with the energy sector, there are additional complexities as to the type of contracts in place. MOP & DC/DA contracts can be put in place either:
- Directly by the customer;
- Through you as a TPI (hopefully!) or;
- Directly with the supplier.
Each permutation needs to be recorded to give visibility of the current state of play, but also to understand any potential call to action.
Since day one of the UtilityClick platform, we’ve supported HH meters. More recently, we added HH matrix pricing to the suite of tools available to our customers. And we’ll be extending functionality further as AMR meters become increasingly common.
As part of this evolution, we are pleased to confirm that the UC system will soon be updated to manage MOP & DC/DA contracts. Our development team have added functionality to manage providers, allocate them to HH meters and store cost / commission information in real time. And not just the current provider’s information – as time passes, keep tabs on the meter’s MOP & DC/DA contract history.
You’re welcome!
